KRISTIAN BEZUIDENHOUT AND CONCERTO COPENHAGEN

KRISTIAN BEZUIDENHOUT AND CONCERTO COPENHAGEN

PIANO CONCERTS – LIKE NEVER BEFORE!

"A magical concert. The world was not the same afterwards," was the review last time South African pianist Kristian Bezuidenhout played a concert with Concerto Copenhagen in November 2020. Bezuidenhout and Concerto Copenhagen will repeat their success in 2023.

Kristian Bezuidenhout and Concerto Copenhagen offer contemporary interpretations of Mozart and Beethoven.

In addition to exploring the chamber music aspects of the two composers, this time a Scandinavian angle has been added: the concert begins with German-Swedish composer Joseph Martin Kraus's – also known as "Sweden's Mozart" – overture to the play Olympie.

Then as now, the orchestra will be led in a chamber music ensemble with the piano placed in the middle of the orchestra – just as Beethoven and Mozart themselves played the solo parts for their piano concertos.
