KRISTIAN BEZUIDENHOUT AND CONCERTO COPENHAGEN

KRISTIAN BEZUIDENHOUT AND CONCERTO COPENHAGEN

PIANO CONCERTS – LIKE NEVER BEFORE!

“A magical concert. The world wasn’t the same afterward,” read the review the last time South African pianist Kristian Bezuidenhout performed with Concerto Copenhagen in November 2020. Bezuidenhout and Concerto Copenhagen will repeat that success in 2023.

Kristian Bezuidenhout and Concerto Copenhagen present fresh interpretations of Mozart and Beethoven.

In addition to exploring the chamber music works of these two composers, this program features a Scandinavian angle: The concert opens with the overture to the play *Olympie* by the German-Swedish composer Joseph Martin Kraus—also known as “Sweden’s Mozart.”

Then as now, the orchestra will be led in a chamber-music-style ensemble with the piano placed in the center of the orchestra—just as Beethoven and Mozart themselves played the solo parts in their piano concertos.
