Christmas Concert 2023 – late night

LIGHT A CANDLE IN THE DARK

Light up the darkness with Concerto Copenhagen as we welcome Christmas, hope, and light on the longest night of the year.

Christmas has been celebrated in different ways since the time of the Vikings. All cultures have their own traditions and rituals, but there are two things we all have in common. Light and music are always part of our celebrations, regardless of where we come from or where we live. That is why Concerto Copenhagen invites you and your loved ones to join us as we light a candle in the darkness on the longest night of the year.

We light a candle in the darkness for hope. Hope for a bright future and brighter days, and not least a wish that everyone has a wonderful Christmas with their loved ones.

In the glow of the lights, we will take you on a Christmas journey through Europe. Because no matter how we celebrate Christmas, music is something we all have in common and an integral part of the Christmas festivities. So you can look forward to experiencing a taste of the festivities from across Europe with music from the Netherlands, England, France, Italy, Poland, Germany – and, of course, Denmark; Christian Geist was organist at Trinitatis Church from 1684 to 1686.

Doors open at 9 p.m., and the concert starts at 9:30 p.m.
The bar in Musikhuset will be open before the concert.

CoCo's Christmas Concert 2023 can be experienced twice on the same evening.
The first concert of the evening will take place in Trinitatis Church, where the church's interior will amplify and elevate the religious and solemn messages of the music under the vaulted ceilings. Afterwards, we will play the same concerts in a shorter version at Musikhuset Copenhagen, where the music can be experienced in a more intimate format with wine and candlelight as we light a candle together in the darkness on the longest night of the year.
