L'incoronazione di Poppea – OPERA PREMIERE –
Old Stage, The Royal Theatre, Copenhagen
Rarely heard works by Johann Sebastian Bach
Tonight’s program features a selection of lost, unknown, revised, or rarely heard concertos by Johann S. Bach. Bach has had the same significance for music as Shakespeare has for literature and Newton for physics, and much of his music is eternally familiar to many. Concerto Copenhagen has put together a program of various reconstructions, arrangements, and interpretations of Bach’s music that challenge and expand our understanding of the great master of the Baroque!
