Music known by millions and for many almost the definition of classical music. Concerto Copenhagen presents a summer tour with The Four Seasons by Vivaldi!

Le quattro Stagioni, the four violin concertos depicting the year in Italy, are without comparison Vivaldi’s most famous and most played work. Many can hum along without necessarily knowing what it is they are humming to – and to even more people it is almost the definition of what classical music is.

“The four seasons” is not only great sounds and inventiveness, but there is plenty of imagination, color, contrasts, and emotional expression as well. It is like we all can feel the cold winter or the summer heat, hear the storm with its thunder and lightning, sense the crackling ice or the humming flies, being a part of the hunt, the dance or dazing of into a peaceful sleepiness.

The four violin concertos are concentrated Vivaldi, but Vivaldi is so much more than just “the four seasons”. Concerto Copenhagen has therefore collected a program where Vivaldi’s all-time hits are juxtapositioned with some of Vivaldi’s other compositions from the same time.
