Common Ground: Andreas Brantelid & Concerto Copenhagen

Andreas Brantelid and Concerto Copenhagen explore the musical connections that have bound Europe together over the centuries—across countries, styles, and generations.

What would it sound like if Europe’s musical history were brought together in a single concert? To mark Denmark’s EU Presidency, Concerto Copenhagen and cellist Andreas Brantelid are weaving together the threads of the continent’s musical tapestry—and bringing them to life.

Through music, we experience the shared European trends and communities. From Handel’s iconicWater Music, which reflects his life’s journey from Germany via Italy to England, to Scheibe and Hartmann, who both brought musical traditions from Germany to Denmark, to one of the greatest European celebrities of the time—Joseph Haydn—and his Cello Concerto in C major, performed by one of Denmark’s leading international soloists.

"Common Ground" is both a historical retrospective and a contemporary celebration of what unites us—across borders, styles, and generations. The program will be performed in Brussels at the famous Henry Le Boeuf Hall.

Look forward to an evening where music shows us where we come from—and what we have in common.
