Christmas Concert 2023 – Late Night

LIGHT A CANDLE IN THE DARK

Light a candle in the darkness with Concerto Copenhagen as we welcome Christmas, hope, and light on the longest night of the year.

Christmas has been celebrated in various ways ever since the time of the Vikings. Every culture has its own traditions and rituals, but there are two things we all have in common. Light and music are always part of our celebration, no matter where we come from or where we call home. That’s why Concerto Copenhagen invites you and your loved ones to join us as we light a candle in the darkness on the longest night of the year.

We light a candle in the darkness for hope—hope for a bright future and brighter days, and above all, a wish that everyone has a wonderful Christmas with their loved ones.

In the glow of the lights, we’ll take you on a Christmas journey through Europe. Because no matter how we celebrate Christmas, music is something we all have in common and an integral part of the holiday festivities. That’s why you can look forward to experiencing a taste of the festivities from all over Europe with music from the Netherlands, England, France, Italy, Poland, Germany—and, of course, from Denmark; Christian Geist served as organist at Trinitatis Church from 1684 to 1686.

Doors open at 9:00 p.m., and the concert starts at 9:30 p.m.
The bar at Musikhuset will be open before the concert.

CoCo’s Christmas Concert 2023 can be enjoyed twice on the same evening.
The evening’s first concert takes place at Trinitatis Church, where the church’s acoustics will amplify and elevate the music’s religious and solemn messages beneath the vaulted ceilings. Afterward, we will perform the same concert in a shorter version at Musikhuset København, where the music can be experienced in a more intimate setting with wine and candlelight as we light a candle together in the darkness on the longest night of the year.
