Christmas concert 2023 - late night

LIGHT A CANDLE IN THE DARK

Light a candle in the darkness with Concerto Copenhagen as we welcome Christmas, hope and light on the longest night of the year.

Christmas has been celebrated in different ways since Viking times. Every culture has its own traditions and rituals, but we all have two things in common. Light and music are always a part of our celebration, no matter where we come from or where we live. That's why Concerto Copenhagen invites you and your loved ones to join us as we light a candle in the dark on the longest night of the year.

We light a candle in the darkness for hope. Hope for a bright future and brighter days, and not least a wish for everyone to have a wonderful Christmas with their loved ones.

By candlelight, we want to take you on a Christmas journey through Europe. Because no matter how we celebrate Christmas, music is a common denominator for all of us and part of the celebration. That's why you can look forward to experiencing a slice of the party from all over Europe with music from Holland, England, France, Italy, Poland, Germany - and of course from Denmark; Christian Geist was organist at Trinitatis Church from 1684 to 1686.

Doors open at 21:00 and the concert starts at 21:30.
The bar in Musikhuset will be open before the concert.

CoCo's Christmas Concert 2023 can be experienced twice on the same evening.
The first concert will take place in Trinitatis Church, where the church space will amplify and lift the religious and solemn messages of the music up under the vaults. Then we play the same concerts in a shorter version at Musikhuset Copenhagen, where the music can be experienced in a more intimate format with wine and candlelight, as we light a candle in the darkness on the longest night of the year.
