Jesenka has played with Concerto Copenhagen since 2010 and is one of the few musicians in the world who specializes in playing the rare instrument Violoncello da Spalla. In 2018, she received two 5-star reviews in Politiken and Kristeligt Dagblad for a solo concert at the Baroque Festival "Midsommerbarok". 

Jesenka Balic Zunic was born in Zagreb, Croatia in 1982. She started playing the violin at the age of 8 and entered the Royal Danish Academy of Music at 16. Danish Academy of Music at the age of 16.

She started playing the baroque violin in 2001 and was soon after engaged for many projects with Scandinavian orchestras and baroque ensembles such as Barokkanerne, Holmen Baroque Ensemble and Theatre of Voices band.

Jesenka studied in the Soloist Class in Paris (CNMSDP) from 2007-2009 with Francois Fernandez as her teacher.

In the period 2010-2013 she has been concertmaster of the French baroque orchestra La Simphonie du Marais, as well as the Copenhagen-based baroque orchestra Enghave Barok.

In 2020, together with harpsichordist Yngvild Vivja Haaland Ruud, she has formed the duo AVERI. Their primary focus is to perform works by female composers from the Baroque and Classical periods. You can see more of their work at: www.averibaroque.com
