Armonico Tributo

Cosmopolite Muffat's harmonic tribute to Europe.
Armonico Tributo is an incredible variety of sonatas - the musical picture of a varied life - and Concerto Copenhagen hopes that the music can bring each listener a little closer to a longing for peace.

Georg Muffat grew up on the borders of France, Italy and Germany in the 1650s during a time of conflict and war in Europe. Despite the strife, Muffat remained a cosmopolitan and a lover of peace! Muffat managed to combine his German identity, his French education and the inspiration of Italian music into a unified musical style that made him a unique composer.

"The weapons of war and its consequences are far from me. Notes, harmonies, the sounds of music are my path. And when I combine the French, German and Italian, it is not to incite war, but in a desire for harmony between people, and a cautious hope for peace." - Georg Muffat

As Lars Ulrik Mortensen says: "And words like these - and I may be a bit naive - are as relevant today as they were 300 years ago when the music was written."

Concerto Copenhagen and Lars Ulrik Mortensen recorded Muffat's work Armonico Tributo in August 2020. The album was released on February 18, 2022 and reached over 100,000 streams in less than two weeks, later receiving the Diapson d'Or 2022.
