The morning we were shepherds – Stenbroen Baroque Days

‘Den morgen vi var hyrder’ (The Morning We Were Shepherds) is a book about a little shepherd boy who loses his flute in a stream, captivates a court, and becomes the cause of a mighty fête champêtre.
It is the story of the Baroque fascination with shepherd life, about two worlds that are attracted and repelled by each other, but must mix because they are not complete without each other.

A children's book and concert format featuring authentic French and English Baroque music by Lully, Jaques Aubert, and Playford.

Tea Bendix, illustrator and author, and Poul Høxbro, musician and storyteller, are the forces behind the picture book, which was published in collaboration between Forlaget Carlsen and Concerto Copenhagen.

Poul Høxbro tells the story from "Den morgen vi var hyrder" (The Morning We Were Shepherds) and plays English and French baroque music together with an ensemble of musicians from Concerto Copenhagen. After the concert, Tea Bendix shows drawings from the sketching process and talks about drawing music and working with children's books.
